IQAC Online Training Course on “Citizen Charter”

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organised a half-day Online Training Course on “Citizen Charter” on 24 June 2023 from BUET, Dhaka. Faculty members and officers of different Departments (Arch, ChE, EEE, IPE, MME, NAME, WRE, URP, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities); Institutes (BUET-JIDPUS, IWFM, IICT, ICT Cell, ARI and IAT); and Offices (Pro-VC Office, Registrar office, BRTC, Central Library, DSW, DAERS, DCE, Directorate of Planning & Development, Medical Centre, Faculty of Science) of BUET, a total thirty-seven (37) participants actively participated in the event. The training aimed to give participants a good understanding of the concept, necessity, types, infrastructure, divisions and significance of the Citizen Charter; and how the quality of services can be improved within the university.

Prof. Dr Md. Saidur Rahman, Director, IQAC, greeted all participants at the beginning of the Training Course. The training sessions were conducted by Md. Mokhlesur Rahman, Deputy Secretary, Good Governance Branch, Cabinet Division, Bangladesh Secretariat, GoB. The Training Course ended with a vote of thanks from Prof. Dr Md Ashikur Rahman Joarder, Additional Director, IQAC.

This Training Course was part of the ongoing activities of the IQAC, which started its journey in January 2015. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions. The IQAC ensures continuous improvement in the entire operations of the institution and assures all the stakeholders connected with higher education: students, parents, teachers, staff, funding agencies and society in general.
