IQAC Training Course on “Citizen Charter”

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organised a half-day Training Course on “Citizen Charter” on 09 November, 2022 at Council Bhaban, BUET, Dhaka-1000. Faculty members and officers of different Departments (Architecture, BME, CSE, ChE, Civil, Chemistry, EEE, IPE, ME, Mathematics, NAME, NCE, PMRE, Physics, WRE, URP and Humanities);Institutes (INPE, BUET-JIDPUS, IWFM, IICT, ICT Cell, RISE, ARI, IAT, IESD and IQAC); and Offices (VC office, Pro-VC Office, Registrar office, Comptroller office, DSW, DAERS, CoE, Office of the Chief Engineer, Audit office, Central Library, Medical Centre, BRTC, DCE and Directorate of Planning and Development) of BUET, a total sixty three (63) participants actively participated in the event. The aim of the training was to provide participants with a good understanding on the concept, necessity, types, infrastructure, divisions and significance of Citizen Charter; and how the quality of services can be improved within the university.

Prof. Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Director, IQAC greeted all participants at the beginning of the Training Course. The Training Course was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Khan, Honorable Pro-Vice Chancellor of BUET. The training sessions were conducted by Ms. Khadiza Nazneen, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Welfare, Govt. of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Certificates for completion of Training Course were awarded by the Chief Guest of the Closing Session Prof. Dr. Satya Prasad Majumder, Honourable, Vice Chancellor of BUET. The Training Course was ended by vote of thanks from Prof Dr. Md Ashikur Rahman Joarder, Additional Director, IQAC.

This Training Course was part of on-going activities of the IQAC which started its journey in January 2015. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions. The IQAC works to ensure continuous improvement in the entire operations of the institution, and assuring all the stakeholders connected with higher education: namely students, parents, teachers, staff, funding agencies and society in general.More information and previous events of IQAC are available at iqac.buet.ac.bd.
