Training Course on Office Management and Skill Development

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) organised the daylong Training Course on “Office Management and Skill Development” on 11 October, 2022 at ARI Seminar Room, ITN-ARI Building, BUET, Dhaka. Twenty seven (27) Officers and staff of different Offices (Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW); Directorate of Advisory, Extension and Research Services (DAERS); Controller of Examination (CoE); and Office of the Chief Engineer); Institutes (Institute of Nuclear Power Engineering (INPE); BUET-JIDPUS; and IQAC); Departments (NAME, GCE, BME, WRE, Mathematics and Chemistry); Residential Halls (Sher-e-Bangla Hall, Titumir Hall, Suhrawardy Hall); and Thirteen (13) Project Office Managers of OBE Cells of different Departments (Architecture, ME, MME, WRE, EEE, URP, IPE, NAME, CE, Ch.E, CSE, BME and Mathematics) of BUET, a total Forty (40) participants actively participated in the event. The aim of the training was to provide participants with a good understanding on: office and core/subsidiary functions; records and file; office automation/mechanization, modernization; and organizational behaviour.  

Prof. Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Director, IQAC greeted all participants at the beginning of the Training Course. The training sessions were conducted by Mr. Md. Zehsan Islam, Joint Secretary, Posts and Telecommunications Division, Ministry of Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Certificates for completion of the Training Course were awarded by the Chief Guest of the concluding session Prof. Dr. Abdul Jabbar Khan, Honourable Pro-Vice-Chancellor, BUET. Dr. Md. Zunaid Baten, Additional, Director, IQAC anchored the concluding session. The Training Course was ended by vote of thanks from Prof Dr. Md Ashikur Rahman Joarder, Additional, Director, IQAC.

This Training Course was part of on-going activities of the IQAC which started its journey in January 2015. The prime task of the IQAC is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the performance of institutions. The IQAC works to ensure continuous improvement in the entire operations of the institution, and assuring all the stakeholders connected with higher education: namely students, parents, teachers, staff, funding agencies and society in general.
